Volunteer opportunity: Fall raking with JFCS

Do you love being outside in the fall? We are looking for volunteers who are interested in raking leaves for JFCS Senior Services clients who might not have the physical stamina or financial ability to complete the yard work themselves or cover the cost of someone else taking care of it. Especially in this isolating time of COVID-19, this is an opportunity for you to serve as a friendly face and brighten their day!

In small groups, volunteers will clean up yards of older adults. This provides an opportunity for adults and youth from the community to work together as they help older adults remain in their homes. When possible, geographic location will be part of the decision matching you with a homeowner. You get to decide the date and time that works for you!

This is family-friendly and great for a group of friends. Volunteers under the age of 16 must have parental supervision for the volunteer project.

We are currently assessing the volunteer need with our clients and will do our best to match you with a yard to rake, although we can’t make any guarantees.

If this interests you, please fill out this registration form and we will get back to you with next steps.

Reach out to Dana Shapiro, Community and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, at dshapiro@jfcsmpls.org with any questions about this volunteer opportunity.
