Free CEU training: “Nourishing the Therapeutic Relationship”

“Nourishing the Therapeutic Relationship”: What do ancient Jewish texts and contemporary theory tell us about this? As it turns out, a lot!

JFCS will host a free CEU training on this topic on Friday, Sept. 20, at its office in Golden Valley (5905 Golden Valley Rd).

Rabbi and therapist E. Noach Shapiro, LCSW, will guide a discussion on “Tzimtzum: spiritual contraction,” a metaphor for personal transformation. We will explore the spiritual and relational dynamics of therapeutic relationships and build concrete, practical skills to enrich our clinical work.

For over 10 years as a congregational rabbi and 25 years as a licensed clinical social worker in Montclair, N.J., Rabbi E. Noach Shapiro has worked with adolescent and adult clients navigating emotional and spiritual transitions. Weaving together Jewish traditions and texts with contemporary psychological perspectives, Noach has presented at national and international conferences on the intersection of medicine, psychology and spirituality, as well as the nature of healing relationships.

Please RSVP for this event by Friday, Sept. 13, by clicking here! It is a free event and offers 1.5 continuing education hours by the MN Board of Social Work.
