Volunteer Spotlight – October 2020: Jennifer Ezrilov

Jennifer Ezrilov (left, pictured with Beverly Grossman at JFCS’ ParentChild+ graduation) has volunteered at JFCS in numerous capacities.

What’s your current volunteer role at JFCS and in what ways have you volunteered with JFCS in the past?

I am currently JFCS’ Past Board President, Board Development VP and NextGen Board Liaison. I have also had the honor and pleasure of serving as Board President, Annual Benefit Co-Chair, ParentChild+ graduation volunteer and Hag Sameach volunteer.

How long have you been volunteering with JFCS?

It’s hard to believe, but I have been volunteering with JFCS since I had kids over 20 years ago.

What motivated you to volunteer with JFCS?

I was looking for a way to get involved in the community and do something meaningful while my kids were in school. Volunteering with Hag Sameach and for the JFCS Annual Benefit were the perfect places to get involved, give back, do something fun and creative, and make new friends along the way!

Tell us about your volunteer experience with JFCS.

Honestly, volunteering with JFCS has been a game-changer. In many ways, it has given so much more to me than I have been able to give back to JFCS. From my first experience working on the decorations committee for the Annual Benefit and volunteering for ParentChild+ and Hag Sameach to today as a Board Member, I’ve had the privilege of seeing the outer and inner workings of the organization. I’ve seen just how much the people that work there really care about what they do and the people they serve.

What’s your favorite part about volunteering with JFCS?

It’s hard to pinpoint just one favorite thing. Everything from seeing young children in the ParentChild+ program jump for joy when they experience their first ever graduation and their parents beam with pride; or perhaps it’s seeing all the amazing results from the JFCS Annual Benefit, or maybe it’s just hanging out with my friends and doing something for the greater good. Selfishly, volunteering for JFCS just feels good!
