Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis (JFCS) was established to help meet the basic needs of immigrants and refugees arriving in this community. Over the past 108 years, JFCS services have grown to include Aging Services, Career Services, Children and Family Services, Inclusion and Community Engagement, and Counseling and Mental Health Support. Today, our mission resonates stronger than ever; to provide essential services, sustain healthy relationships, ease suffering and offer support in times of need to people of all ages and backgrounds.
JFCS moves into its Next Century Home; a welcoming, responsive place for clients, staff and volunteers offering the potential to expand our impact in the community. Innovative spaces will foster engagement and encourage collaboration, while providing privacy, comfort and new opportunities for our clients and partners. Centrally located in Golden Valley, our new home will ensure our ongoing commitment to ever-changing and emerging needs of the Jewish and broader communities and respond with excellence, innovation and boundless compassion.
JFCS is comprised of professional staff with the highest degree of skill and ethics. Guided by our values of inclusion, innovation, integrity, collaboration and providing boundless compassion, we serve thousands of people each year.
PRISM, which operates the Marketplace Food Shelf and Shop for Change Thrift Shop will co-locate in our new home, expanding our synergistic partnership. PRISM offers an immediate response to the basic needs of people in crisis, and JFCS provides additional wrap-around services that, together, can stabilize families, provide long-term solutions and help prevent future crises.
