JFCS statement regarding Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center bombing

In light of the bombing at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington this weekend, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis (JFCS) expresses its support and solidarity with the Muslim community, including our own staff and clients who are Muslim. We condemn this terrible act in our faith community.

While fortunately no one was hurt in the incident, it underscores the importance of The Minneapolis Foundation’s creation of the Faith In Each Other Fund. This charitable fund, which was established in March, will help support security initiatives of both the Muslim and Jewish communities. We thank The Minneapolis Foundation for this critical support.

There will be an interfaith gathering tomorrow night Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center (8201 Park Ave S, Minneapolis) to stand with and support the community.

JFCS is here for all. Always.
