Help JFCS meet urgent community needs during time of uncertainty

By Scott Rubin • JFCS Board Member and 2022 GIVE Campaign Chair

In a world filled with uncertainty, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis continues to meet the urgent needs of our community, and offer support to people of all ages and backgrounds as they manage physical, mental and financial challenges. In 2021, JFCS provided mental health counseling, financial support, employment assistance, hunger relief, and connection to over 13,000 individuals who asked for help. With boundless compassion and exceptional professional care, Jewish Family and Children’s Service is Here For All. Always.

JFCS helps to sustain healthy relationships, ease suffering, and offer support to all those who ask, because you answer the call to help through your donations and contributions. This year, our GIVE Campaign will raise over $1 million with your support. Over 75% of donations go directly to fund our 30+ programs that meet the needs of Holocaust Survivors, young families, people with disabilities, our friends, family, and neighbors. Now, more than ever, your support will make a difference. In 2022, for the first time in JFCS history, the United Way will discontinue funding of our programs and services. Government and foundation support is competitive. We are grateful for the strong support from the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.

Gifts to the GIVE campaign will ensure that isolation is reduced for older adults receiving rides through our Garber Transportation Program; that children receive summer camp scholarships; teenagers receive the emotional support they need; job-seekers are able to skill-up to obtain jobs paying a livable wage; families receive emergency food boxes to carry them to their next paycheck; and so much more.

Please consider a gift early in the campaign to ensure urgent needs are met and our campaign remains strong amid increased demands. Together, we will build a strong community, one person at a time.
