Join NextGen and local community members for a night of food, fun, and virtual reality, powered by YALA Twin Cities, a program of the Minneapolis and St. Paul Jewish Federations. The NextGen Winter Party will be Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 6-9 p.m. at REM5 in St. Louis Park. Have a drink and snack with your friends, play VR games, and learn about NextGen’s mission to support JFCS and the community.
REM5 is an innovative event space that uses virtual reality technology to bring new experiences to consumers and to help break down barriers in accessibility. They’re also exploring the power of VR for art and social change, to tell stories and to help people with disabilities find their place in the workforce and overcome educational barriers.
NextGenners will be able to play, drink local brews, and mingle with friends. We’ll also have a chance to learn how virtual reality technology is helping special needs students learn and play, and how virtual reality might change social work in the future—all connected to JFCS’ work in Jewish Inclusion and Career Services! For those who are more old-school, REM5 has SNES, N64, and Sega consoles, as well as space to just mingle and hang out!
The cost is a $10 donation, and YOU direct its impact to one of four JFCS Programs at the event! Pre-Registrants will receive a free drink ticket.
We also are proud to welcome Heritage Judaica-Twin Cities to run a give-take table of donated judaica. They’ll be happy to provide you new-to-you items of judaica at no cost, or take your unused ritual items off your hands!
