Is one of your new year’s resolutions to find a meaningful volunteer opportunity? Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis’ (JFCS) offers a variety of volunteer opportunities serving people of all backgrounds and ages and will host a Volunteer Info Night from 7-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at its office in Golden Valley (5905 Golden Valley Rd).
“Whether you are looking for one-time volunteering or doing so on a regular basis, we have the right fit for you!” said Dana Shapiro, Community and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. The information session will cover volunteering opportunities throughout JFCS, including the Annual Benefit and Hag Sameach committee positions, family volunteering, working with seniors, the Jewish Big Brother/Big Sister Program and much more.
The event will include a light nosh. Walk-ins are welcome, but RSVPs are requested.
“My JFCS story began with me volunteering on Annual Benefit committees for a few years. Two years ago, I became a JFCS employee and am in charge of coordinating the event. I have loved getting to know the existing volunteers and look forward to welcoming new faces to our team in 2019.” – Melissa Kieffer, JFCS Annual Benefit Coordinator
“The Hag Sameach program is such a wonderful experience as we are able to provide ritual items and gifts to those in our community who would otherwise not be able to celebrate the holidays. We are looking for new volunteers for a variety of different roles within the program, both as one-time opportunities and for some on a more regular schedule.” – Mindy Teele, Hag Sameach Program Coordinator
