From the Desk of CEO Judy Halper: February 2018

The hallways are stripped of artwork and plaques. Boxes are stacked wherever you look. Letterhead with our soon-to-be unusable Minnetonka address is hard to find. The parade of furniture liquidators, movers, and new occupants is slowly coming to an end. It is happening. The move that Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis (JFCS) has been planning for more than two years is actually upon us!

Judy HalperJFCS staff are experts, who offer boundless compassion as they help their clients adjust to change, grief, loss, and managing expectations. That’s a good thing for all of us at JFCS! As we navigate our transition from the “home” we’ve occupied since 1999 to our new address in Golden Valley as of Feb. 26, we will find comfort and apply our knowledge and experience as we pack up memories created at our Minnetonka address.

And then there is the FRESH START and NEW BEGINNING! With tremendous gratitude to the Stillman Family Foundation, our new building at 5905 Golden Valley Road is our new home, and we hope to share it with you! We are excited to co-locate with PRISM and, in partnership, better meet the needs of people with food insecurity. PRISM will provide immediate help with its state-of-the-art food shelf, and JFCS will be right there to assist people with finding better employment, identify and address mental health issues that serve as barriers to sustainability, and offer support and service for nearly every challenge.

You are our important partner in our new future. Our space will be welcoming to volunteers and we’ll be hosting programs and events that you’ll want to attend. We can’t wait for you to check out the new JFCS! Whether your purpose is to receive help or support, to volunteer, to offer assistance, or simply see our new space, we look forward to welcoming you!

Here for All. Always….
