L'Chaim Senior Services Deikel Transportation
Volunteer Drivers-Flexible hours

Meet Sam*, a vibrant member of our community who worked as a doctor until he retired seven years ago. Sam is also the sole caretaker of his wife who suffers from dementia. To stay active, Sam frequently exercises and socializes at the Sabes JCC. He also runs errands for his family and takes his wife to medical appointments. To meet all these obligations, Sam relies on L'Chaim Senior Services Deikel Transportation. The volunteer drivers consistently make sure Sam, and other older adults in our community are able to go to doctor's appointments, run errands, visit their friends and more.

Because of increased need in the community, we need volunteer drivers now more than ever before. We're looking for adults who are in the Twin Cities in the winter; have a safe driving record, appropriate insurance and a car in good condition. If you can help Sam, or other clients like him contact Debra Savitt, Volunteer Resources Program Manager, at dsavitt#jfcsmpls.org or 952-542-4859.

Quick Fix Volunteers
for easy, one-time household solutions

One person can make a huge difference.

Older woman

Meet Ellen*. Recent health developments have made it impossible for her to do some important household chores on her own. Specifically this year Ellen needs someone to seal her windows with transparent film to keep winter drafts out so her home stays warm and comfortable.

If you can help Ellen or other clients like her,  please contact Debra Savitt, Volunteer Resources Program Manager, at dsavitt@jfcsmpls.org or 952-542-4859.
