JFCS Mitzvah Tribute Cards

JFCS Mitzvah (Hebrew for good deed) Cards allow you to make contributions in any amount to various funds established to support client programs and services.

Mitzvah contributions are a meaningful way to honor friends, families, colleagues and neighbors for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and other celebrations. Mitzvah Cards may also be used to wish a speedy recovery or honor a loved one’s memory.

When you donate using a Mitzvah Card you can choose to have your donation go towards a named or program fund or be used where most needed. A card is then sent to the person you are honoring. Each Mitzvah Card includes a short description of the fund that was chosen as well as the donor’s name and address. For a list of funds, click here.

Donations may be made online with your Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or Diner's Card by clicking here. If you prefer to send your donation by mail, contact our Mitzvah Card Hotline at 952-542-4871 or sendacard@jfcsmpls.org to request a packet of 10 donation envelopes.

JFCS 2012 Annual Membership Campaign

For more than 100 years, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis has helped people overcome life’s many challenges.

People of all backgrounds, ages, and incomes seek assistance from JFCS. With your help, we are able to provide them with critically needed services.

You support more than one cause. Your contribution funds more than 40 programs that provide essential services to more than 16,000 people of all backgrounds.

Your gift shows that you care. In times of need, no one should feel alone. Your gift honors our tradition of caring for one another, providing thousands of dollars in emergency assistance to families who lack basic necessities like food and shelter.

You guide our youth. 22 mentor matches were made through the Jewish Big Brother/Big Sister Program, and Healthy Youth-Healthy Communities conducted 40 programs that encouraged positive behavior among adolescents.

Your support as a member of JFCS and a caring member of the community secures our future.

These are examples of what your membership contribution provides:

$18		A bag of traditional Passover foods for a family to celebrate the holiday
$50		Two hours of house cleaning for a senior on a fixed income
$125		A hospice visitor to bring comfort and a Jewish presence to someone who is terminally ill
$500		A year of advocacy for a woman struggling with domestic violence
$1500		Ten counseling sessions for someone without insurance
$2,500		One year’s worth of kosher Meals on Wheels for a homebound senior
$5,000		Weekly home visits for low-income families, preparing pre-school aged children for academic success

Hag Sameach / Happy Holidays

In Hebrew Hag Sameach means "Happy Holidays". To ensure a joyous Chanukah celebration, JFCS provides gifts and holiday ritual items to families and individuals in need. Volunteers collect, sort, wrap and deliver gifts to these families. Last year 1,000 individuals were served.

The JFCS NextGen Program
The JFCS Next Generation Program is a Fund, Club and Board that encourages philanthropy and community involvement among adults ages 21 to 36. NextGen will encourage young philanthropists by offering hands-on giving opportunities, professional experience and a vibrant social network to build a more cohesive community. The mission is to actively involve and connect young philanthropists with JFCS. NextGen Fund An innovative way for JFCS to involve and fundraise with a younger generation by providing affordable giving options starting at just $10 a month. NextGen Club Engages those contributing to the Fund by offering hands-on volunteer options that connect donors to the causes they care about, and providing social and career networking opportunities. NextGen Board A group of individuals ages 21 to 36 who are passionate about assisting in the governance of the JFCS Next Generation Program. Become a member today!
